Very good point!

I just felt the biggest reason why I would like to have an easier way for long form writing, strictly meaning multiline nodes.
It’s because there is no way to tag many nodes at once in a good fashion.
I would love to create taggable content without the “title node” or without tagging each line of the text. I would like to tag whole “block” of that text, like:
- multiline poem → #poem,
- draft of an email/response to question for my online course → #draft,
- block of text ready to be copied and pasted somewhere else, without “-”, only with simple /newline characters/.

@Matthew Barlow would you mind elaborating how does your connection with Airtable look like (here or in Slack community)?
-
The only thing I would add here is the ability to set custom aliases on the fly – when after selecting text typing "@" would invoke the popup to create a new node in the Library OR create an alias for ... → search for node to create an alias for.

Agreed a lot about "smoothness of operation".

That looks very nice and helpful

In reply to Olli TiainenOlli TiainenMay 4, 2023 In simple relationships, yes, such as: Person (supertag) is a member of a Project (Field instance for Projects) Project (supertag) has a Team member (Field instance for Persons) But in more complex...I see, so then we would be able to for example explain the mechanism of Vitamin D by describing the relation itself.
Have you seen that implemented in UI anywhere? Where should it go in the app like Tana? Curious to see if there are any which could be helpful for devs -

@Olli Tiainen @Andric Tham wouldn't mentioned "connection between supertag instance fields information" be contained within the field title and description?
-
@Gabriel have you tried extending tags with making them more specific? In your example I would see:
- #article
- #newspaper article - extends #article and has fields from #article as well as from #newspaper article
- #academic article - extends #article and has fields from #article as well as from #academic article
- #book
- #chapter (or #book chapter) - it can extend #book or not, depending on your use case

Heyo! Until that is fixed you can use Shift+Click to open above. Check this Help Centre article: https://help.tana.inc/docks-and-panels.html

In reply to Andric ThamAndric ThamApr 22, 2023 I think it matters. Annotated edges are an essential component of graphs. With Roam-style backlinks, there aren’t any annotated edges between pages that link to each other, but at least the unstruct...@Andric Tham do you know if there is any example of edges, annotated edges and edge properties to help visualizing that?

+1. Quick launch and quick search to be able to access specific information from Tana is crucial for me to make Tana reliable for storing work stuff.

Feature seems to be introduced in the latest update https://tanacommunity.slack.com/archives/C044WE82Z0T/p1680274398149909
Adding to the long form, multiline text tagging.
It would be very useful to be able to tag group of nodes OR a multiline text, with a way to add fields to them, like:
