Access to the information on the fly

Explain the problem as you see it

I start using Tana to add all kind of information (from meetings, todo, ideas, gifts ideas, etc) so I need to access to this information when I am not with my laptop in front of me. For example:

  • I go to a meeting without my laptop but I want to check my previous meeting notes.
  • I am on the street and I want to check the pending TODOs.
  • I am on my couch and I want to read/access/check some information that I have in my Tana knowledge graph.

Why is this a problem for you?

This is a big stopper to keep using Tana and add more information because I can not relay in a tool that I can not access to the information easily on the fly. I am not in front of my laptop all the time but I have my phone all the time with me.

I feel very frustrated when I know that I have some information in my Tana Graph that I would like to access but I can not because I do not have my laptop with me.

Suggest a solution

Mobile app where I have access to all my Tana Knowledge Graph information. It can start being just read only mode but please, make it fast and optimise for mobile/platform.

I tried to use the mobile browser to access the information but it is simply impossible to make it usable and you are always afraid to modify something by mistake as the application is not (and should not) optimise for mobile.

As example, Craft and Things3 are amazing apps optimise for mobile and the two main needs are: read only access information and search information.

Thanks!! :)

Yes to this!! And the more locally saved (with sync to the cloud for every node that has been updated since last time) the better, because speed is crucial. And also for the ability to work/think/make notes offline.

There have been several instances where I used Capture and things got forgotten about in my “Inbox”. Since it’s used rarely I don’t think to check there everytime I’m back at a desktop.

I face this too. And it's gotten to the point that I'm deliberating using something easier like Google docs /something with copilot so I can retrieve my notes. Or even other PKM apps like roamresearch, logseq or obsidian.

I mean, notes must be bidirectional, right? If you can only "input" notes with no output, notes become pretty much useless. The mobile access thing is a huge issue for me.

If you use the metaphor of carrying a notebook around, you'd always want it in your pocket because you can refer to it anytime, edit it, build on previous ideas. Whereas if you could only use your old ideas on desktop, your thinking space is constrained to sitting on that chair in front of your desktop.

The Android version of the app hasn't been released yet. I'm excited that the app is being released overall and that there's an iOS beta available. However, I'm concerned that Android users aren't being prioritized. I hope this isn't a trend, and that the Android version will be given more attention. I've seen this happen way too often with other apps. I don't plan to switch to iOS anytime soon.

Yep, team have discussed Android a lot. We have two dedicated Android developers working in the team currently, Android will follow closely.
