Nov 25, 2024 Great idea, internal prototypes exist, but no plans for release atm

Nov 25, 2024 Yes great ideas. Being able to view the same data in different ways is a fundamental strength of Tana. Expanding view types always on radar with a lot of internal exploration/prototypes, but no plans in current chapter for any releases.

Nov 25, 2024 Not sure if it's what you mean, but you can add anything quickly in Tana with cmd- e. It opens a dialogue box from wherever you are, and will add any text you add there to your daily node-

Nov 25, 2024 Good idea, noted for team, but unlikely to redesign this in short term. Definitely not ideal for non english grammar, or edge cases such as the parenthesis you mention above.
A current workaround is that you can press escape to cancel the Emoji menu. This removes the menu quickly without slowing down typing:

Nov 25, 2024 Great idea, this has been explored previously with working internal prototypes of chat in Tana.
Whilst it's a good idea, this feature is not close to release and team are not actively working on it in current chapter.

Nov 25, 2024 Yes good idea, likely native capacity in future, but it's not in our current chapter.. A few relevant alternatives currently:
If you are using Google to log in you can sign out via Google:
- Go to Manage your Google Account.
- Click the "Security" tab in the left sidebar.
- Scroll down to the "Your connections to third-party apps & services" section.
- Click "See all connections" and find Tana.
- Click "See details" on the "How Google helps you sign in to Tana" section.
- Click "Stop using Sign in with Google".
- Your Tana account and the data and info you shared with Tana will not be deleted. This will log you out on all devices.
If Apple, and specifically on iOS, whilst not the same request, you can add additional security of a unique passcode, TouchID or FaceID specifically for the app.

- Sync multiple calendars
Matt M StaffNov 25, 2024 Good idea, well know to team. Will be there in future, but not in current chapter.
Multiple calendar support isn't in our immediate plans but it's clearly something we need, and will be there in future.
A workaround is that you can sync multiple calendars right now by sharing them through Google Calendar first and then selecting them all in Tana's settings. But, we know this workaround isn't perfect, especially if you're using different calendar platforms.

Nov 25, 2024 Nice idea Dee, clear value. A lot more to come with how we work with files in Tana, file types will be considered as part of that work.

Nov 25, 2024 In reply to Clark RoseClark RoseNov 25, 2024 Thanks for replying Matt, I'm aware I can indent and add a URL, I explained the benefit I see in adding for simple nodes, a quick option to have a backlink as part of the node description vs in child...Right sorry Clark, I clicked on the workflowy link above and it's the same functionality as we have. In Tana it's even quicker as you don't have to complete all of thse steps
Instead, in Tana just highlight any text of any node (wherever it is, parent or child), and paste the URL over it to create a link
But if you mean specifically having urls in Tana node descriptions, yes that's not possible yet! Currently you can't add a live link in the node description in Tana. CleanShot 2024-11-25 at 10.00.25@2x.png. Not sure if this will be added with the functionality we have, but generally url nodes will continue to be worked on, will add this as an idea.
Let me know if I have got it, or if there's anything else

Nov 25, 2024 Nice idea, yes as you say collapsable nodes are a feature already and you can nest images under a parent to collapse them. The parent node can act as the caption.
The new idea of collapsable/expandable nodes on captions directly is interesting. Presents some interesting challenges in an outliner with nested structures (e.g. if an image might be deep in a nesting structure - do you expand all path, only if siblings etc, but adding for the team.
Alternatives now:
Add all images under a parent node and collapse.
Create a dedicated search view at the bottom of the page to surface all images when needed.
Use a specific tag for all your images, or use search HAS IMAGE to display all images - https://tana.inc/docs/search-nodes#node-contents -

Nov 25, 2024 If you paste a url in Tana it will become a link, and you can also highlight any text, and paste a url over it for a link alias-
