Bumping this again - we need a way to merge duplicates automatically, at least under each supertag. I think Remnote has this.

Related to this, wanted to share that the experience of using AI in the column of a very long live search often breaks Tana by freezing it and making it nearly unuseable. May I suggest an automated background queue so that Tana does not try to multi-thread and do everything in one shot, and that Tana remains useable while these requests process in the background?

Hi tana team - just wanted to add my feedback to this.
Show/hide fields is not the solution to this.
Main reason is because I need fields to be in order and easily accessible, without needing to scroll all the way up to the parent node and reactivating it by hiding/unhiding. It should be as easily as toggling any node in Tana.

Any updates on this please
Even just Claude 3 is fine -
I face this too. And it's gotten to the point that I'm deliberating using something easier like Google docs /something with copilot so I can retrieve my notes. Or even other PKM apps like roamresearch, logseq or obsidian.
I mean, notes must be bidirectional, right? If you can only "input" notes with no output, notes become pretty much useless. The mobile access thing is a huge issue for me.
If you use the metaphor of carrying a notebook around, you'd always want it in your pocket because you can refer to it anytime, edit it, build on previous ideas. Whereas if you could only use your old ideas on desktop, your thinking space is constrained to sitting on that chair in front of your desktop.

- Supertag Order Priority
Bumping this up, because I keep bumping into this problem.
Another way I bump into it:
When inheriting a tag, I would sometimes rather one of the tag's fields be above another tag, or be above the native tag's fields. -
waiting for this one as well :/

Is there a plan to bring back the Icon field for supertags?
-
Finding myself really needing this, and it's gotten to a really bad point. I desperately need access to my information on the go. Also, sometimes after sending things through the capture OS, I can't retrieve them back to edit them, it frustrates me quite a bit.

I agree with you. And unfortunately the only 'rough workaround' that probably won't break even after a change is something like this - try it out for now:

- Live Timers
Integrating the time-tracking with the Date field would be really cool

- Formula Field
@Julien France I don't think it's quite the same. The thing that comes to mind when talking about formulas isn't just mathematical calculations, but a consistent, predictable output from an input. And this includes:
- Concatenation of strings
- If/then
- formatting dates/other types as strings
- getting character length
- slicing strings at particular words
- adding/subtracting dates
- converting dates from hours to minutes to seconds, vice versa
- true/false conditions

Back in the 2019-2020 era, there used to be a particular theme in Roam which I thought was pretty amazing. It was panels, but you could pan horizontally (shift-scroll) and when you moused over the page you could also scroll. You could also drag or reorder pages by shifting them side to side.
It would be what I'd call a perfect mixture of "tabs", "panels" and "pages".
It's called Zenithdecker now I think: https://github.com/theianjones/roam-research-themes/blob/master/zenithdecker.css
Design originated from Azlen: https://github.com/azlen/roam-themes

Bumping this up as well. I want to create voice notes sometimes to transcribe, and I find that it is only possible on Mobile currently.
-
Wondering if we can employ AI to do this? I find it to be a pressing issue especially when we add more information into Tana
-
Use system fields. This is already possible afaik
-
Do we know if there's a limit, or whether there is an official API planned soon? Afaik, the API is pretty much unofficial, and also doesn't provide endpoints like openAI does
-
This would a really difficult feature to implement I can imagine. Because of the "syncing hell" issues and possibility of data loss. This is also probably why Notion has never really tried to make it offline.
But I can see this being a huge competitive advantage against Notion if this succeeds. Out of all the syncing solutions I've seen, the one I love the most is actually Anki's because it gives the option to either keep the local copy or cloud copy. This shifts the burden of any data loss to the responsibility of the user. Also, having some kind of rollback like Dropbox does would be supremely useful.

I agree. I'd love to have embeddable tweets or the ability to extract the content via API. looking forward to tweets in particular! What would also be cool would be the ability to extract twitter profiles involved in the thread opening
Oh interesting idea. Could automatically move my archived tasks into a node!
