Weekly, quarterly, annual goals planning and reviews

Actions

Explain the problem as you see it

If we are using Tana for task, project, life management in long term we may face with situation that we actually planning our life, task, projects without goals and reviews. We don't have actually thing to planning and link our tasks to weekly goals, weekly goals to quarterly goals, quarterly goals to annual goals with easy click to review spend time on specific goals, area, supertag, tag.

Why is this a problem for you?

  • We cannot check ours goals in easy, intuitive and fast
  • Also we cannot see them to plan our week with focus on our goals to remember them to stay on track
  • We also cannot We need to find workaround that are not intuitive or use different apps for that or use other tools or combine different tools
  • Now it's a little chaotic to combine our weekly, quarterly, annual goals
  • Now it's hard to count our time spend on specific area (tag, supertag)

Suggest a solution

Weekly, quarterly, annual goals that may be implemented with planning and review of that goals. Weekly planning that align weekly goals, that we may combine to quarterly that may be align to annual goals.

Also something like our summary that we may see what was done what was not, what is to improve, what we shall change, what wasn't goes what we thought, what was not achieved in specific period of time week, quarter and year.

The feature might count our time on:

  • supertag
  • tag

That reviews would be saved similar like daily notes and we might check every our saved review with summary.

That will help to focus on things that are important for us also it might increase user experience.

Reference that similar feature was implemented is Sunsama but only weekly goals and review.

Shift + Left mouse click shortcut improvement

Actions

Explain the problem as you see it

When we using shift + left mouse click page, tag, object is openning at the top of the screen.

Why is this a problem for you?

For me that behaviour is confusing. Cause looks like screen jump. It's not intuitive for me.

Suggest a solution

Change that behavior with shift + left mouse click on for example tag and other object to that to that tag, object could open at the bottom of the screen.

Dates format

Actions

Explain the problem as you see it

When I'm using daily notes and would like to jump to specific day and also when I'm looking on calendar. and notice a date format.

We have dates in daily notes as Week 50.

In the case of calendars, we have syntax of date as "month day year" in the format.
Example Jan 21 2024.

Why is this a problem for you?

For me is not consistent. I don't use that format of date, I need to check in web or use additional tools to check that. What date exacly we have. Aslo need to thing what format is using and what a date we exacly have. From my point of view It's not intuitive

For day to day I using date such us 09.11.2024 - 15.11.2024. That is really specific and easy to understand by my brain.

Amount of people don't using a week number as a reference of date. It's not common. Only if we work in the corporation or similar thing.

Suggest a solution

Add different view data to Week name in Daily notes in specific year instead o week 50 (09.11.2024 - 15.11.2024) or add possibility to change that in easy way as user would like to have see a dates.

Means add a additional formats for dates in addition to the "number of week" in the daily notes.

Same think to calendar. In calendar might add additional format to show dates as example:
| Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | and so on... |
| 09.12.2024 | 10.12.2024| 11.12.2024 | and so on... |

For other users might be needed different dates format that I didn't thought. It's good to keep in mind.

Centered layout

Actions

Explain the problem as you see it

I'm using monitor ultrawide (21:9) and it's annoying when often I open the supertags, daily notes and other things layout is not always centered just aligned to the left side of the monitor.

Why is this a problem for you?

It's not intuitive when some on things are centered and some not. It's exhausting, jumping from one part of the monitor to another all the time. You can't concentrate properly

Suggest a solution

Optional center layout for all things that we open.

Sorting elements on the left and inside specific note

Actions

Explain the problem as you see it

I often cofucese when I trying to find something in my notes and see that it's note sorted alphabetically. For example on the left panel and after we are in the notes.

Why is this a problem for you?

If we have small amount of notes it's not big problem to sort it manually but of we have some data that is frustrating. I mean we need to refresh page/note with button

Suggest a solution

Add left panel sorting and inside notes that may be on or off that will do it automaticly by itself

Global shortcut to perform actions (prompt)

Actions

Explain the problem as you see it

When I'm using other apss or doing something but not in tana and then I got a thought that I would like to write as fast I may or open the specific thing for example note to write something or edit. We write code or something

Why is this a problem for you?

For exmaple using Akiflow or Notion or Routine app that have global feature.

  • Notion add feature to search fast a thing in the all notes and then open it. It's helps a lot to work efficient.
  • Akiflow to create task / event with priority and other specific things. It's helps a lot to work efficient.
  • Routine app combined both approaches above, ctrl+space helps find a thing in notes, tasks or even create task note, event. That is the thing. We never lose a thoughts in fast life.

If we have similar feature we don't need to lose focus and don't got confusing to changing the app. Just fast way to get what we need, in every place we need. We will not lose our thoughts and focus on the current thing, we can write something down and then come back to it.

Suggest a solution

Add similar prompt as in my references to Routine app, Akiflow, Notion. I think it' is good to know all of them to understand the thing. But the main focus may be on Routine app and Notion like approach.

Drag and drop task, create event, notes for events in calendar (2-way integration) with agenda

Actions

Explain the problem as you see it

Hello,

When problem happened?

  • every day that I'm planning my time or create a note I need to use few apps.
  • several times a day when I'm catching thoughts / task / notes in fast life

Why is this a problem for you?

We need to use a lot of apps (for note taking, calender / calendar with task or even tasks sometimes), and change our focus it's no efficient and sometimes it's confusing.

I would also prefer to pay a little more for an app and have it more complete than to use a few extras that you also sometimes have to pay for if they are to be done well.

It's hard to keep everything organised when we using few apps aften I miss something I add to the app, task or note. Often it's important thing.

Then I don't need to think where I drop this idea, task or note.

I would like to make life easier.

One application to organise will resolve the problems.

Suggest a solution

I would like to raise a idea. It's drag and drop list with calendar also have calendar integration.
Below bullet points related to features

  • 2-way integration with calendar like Google calendar.
  • list of tasks from notes and features:
    • grouping tasks by notes, tags
    • sorting tasks (create time, priority, name of task)
    • task with description that is a note page (sometimes one task have a lot of things to do and dependencies)
    • drag and drop task to the calendar
  • agenda of the day (view)
