Adding to this. It would be even better if we could specify the number of lines to display in the view options. So, I can still have some practical limits to the size of the cards, but I could see, say 2 or 3 lines of the actual text.

Love this. I would certainly enjoy placement at the top of the page, too, as an option. It's subtly shaded separately enough that it would be useful for a few things to have directly at the top. My current day's to-do list is generally short enough that it doesn't take up too much room and I want it to be pretty front and center. I love the calendar view to the left, but it takes up a lot of space, so anything else I add there just scrolls off the bottom of the page. Having the ability to anchor it to the top will ensure I don't miss it.

Something quick and easy would be the ability to set a standing and permanent alias for each node. This would be helpful for things like People nodes where I generally have the name their full first and last name, but I rarely want to refer to them as such inline. I generally always want just the first name. If we could add a default alias to a given node and make it really easy to switch to that alias as you're typing, this would greatly enhance readability and speed.
