Allow inline references in the Description field

Actions

Explain the problem as you see it

Today you can't make any reference to a node in the description field of another node. For example, if I have a Supertag called #restaurant where I track all the places I eat as a food tourist, I might want the title of a location to be "Burger King" with a description of "High [[Cuisine]] restaurant based in [[Miami, FL]]" where the items in brackets are references to other nodes.

Why is this a problem for you?

I can't use the description field to create a reference to another location, which means I need to add a field to the supertag or just type the reference as a child node. The field option is overkill and requires you to have the same piece of information with every instance of that supertag, even if it doesn't apply. Putting it as a child is OK, but it's not clear that child node is referencing the title and it can't be pulled out to show in a top level list of a bunch of instances of that supertag. (e.g. A bunch of books with a small one-sentence description that each have links to the author)

Suggest a solution

Allow inline references in the Description field in all nodes.

Add statistics on the number of nodes

Actions

Explain the problem as you see it

There's no way to observe the growth of your Tana workspace over time by looking at the number of total nodes or other statistics that might be relevant to the entire system.

Why is this a problem for you?

I'm worried about slowdowns and I'd like to observe the effect of adding more nodes to Tana on its performance. It's also really helpful to display progress and forward momentum.

Suggest a solution

Add a "Statistics" node to the Root node in a workspace that shows at least the total number of nodes. A few other things that might be useful: average size of nodes, average age of nodes.
