CMD+K command to change created date and time of a node

Actions

Explain the problem as you see it

I am slowly migrating notes from other applications but as soon as I bring them into Tana, either by import or manual entry, they no longer retain their original created date and time.

Day One allows the user to manually adjust the date and time of a journal entry. Devonthink and Evernote also provide the user with this level of control.

Why is this a problem for you?

Created date and time provide a context of when a node was created and at what time and the relationship of that node to other nodes. It is a sequential timeline of thoughts, events and actions. Tana isn't allowing me to place these nodes into their correct context.

For example, when I search for all nodes created within the last 7 days, I am returning results that include nodes created within Tana with the correct date-time, and nodes that I created 3 years ago outside of the Tana ecosystem that shares the same/similar date-time due to import or manual creation on a past Day node.

Suggest a solution

A cmd + k command to modify the created date and time of a node.

Drag nodes between tabs to replicate list view functionality

Actions

Explain the problem as you see it

Unable to drag a node from one tab view into another.

CleanShot 2023-05-07 at 12.25.15@2x.png

Why is this a problem for you?

There is no way to easily move a node or a selection of nodes from one tab view into another. Essentially, while in tab view your nodes are locked into that view.

Suggest a solution

Pick up a node or selection of nodes and drag it to the tab you want to drop them. On releasing the trackpad the nodes get dropped into the new tab location. Ideally, any reference to the node or nodes will not show in the original location. It works in a similar way to how a node or selection of nodes can be dragged and nested beneath another node in list view.
