This is a simple but very powerful tool for making content more valuable.

Bonus points IF you make sure we can somehow leverage our authentication to YouTube so that premium works and you don't have to watch ads inside Tana YouTube embeds. My Tana accounts (google account) is also a YouTube Premium account. So, technically, I shouldn't have to watch ads.

I also made this video ages ago using the tool in Roam for taking better notes on videos.

Why is this a problem for you?

It's one of the very few things remaining that Roam does better than Tana. Really... this is about it actually.

See screenshots. Let me know if there are questions or other demo needed.

Tana Template import/export - <file>.tmpl or something like that.

Actions

Explain the problem as you see it

It's difficult to package a template for sharing as it works today.

Why is this a problem for you?

I want to share a template as a packaged digital download.

Suggest a solution

Tana Template import/export - <file>.tmpl or something like that.

on the same node where I would

CMD-K > Share Template

there would be something like "Package Template as TMPL" (or some extension)

that would export the contents of the node (prob. as tana intermediate file format) and zip it... and send me the zip as a download.

Unpublish a Published Workspace

Actions

Explain the problem as you see it

I believe it’s essential to be able to unpublish a workspace.

It should just be a toggle off/on.

When you do it, the original link will be gone forever. This is fine and even desirable. A user might just manage a DNS entry to have a stable URL while the underlying can change over time.

This would allow, for example:

  • workspace versioning
  • sharing without be worried about it being forever
  • oh NOES I SHARED SOMETHING I SHOULDN'T path to resolution

My explorations of "Share as Template" and its quirkiness is what led to this idea/suggestion.

Why is this a problem for you?

See above description.
