That would be amazing! I found the concept of sliding panes a while ago through this page here: https://notes.andymatuschak.org/About_these_notes
Links open in new panels and then stack onto each other on either the left or right side of the screen. Simply sliding left and right makes navigation very quick and easy, also with my mouse with thumb wheel.
The same concept is implemented in this tool here, although navigation is not yet as good as on the page above: https://www.tangentnotes.com/
A similar idea is the concept of sliding panes / stacked tabs. There's a separate idea submission here, where I've just added a comment with two links to a page and an app in which that idea is implemented.
