Allow the choice between different date formats

Explain the problem as you see it

As a French speaker, the date format used in Tana is unfamiliar to me. For instance, "Today, 04/06/2023 (Sunday)" would be much more intuitive for me than "Today, Sun, 4 Jun."

Why is this a problem for you?

The way dates are displayed and entered can greatly impact user experience and localization.

User Familiarity: Date formatting should align with users' expectations and cultural conventions. For instance, users in the United States are accustomed to the "MM/DD/YYYY" format, while those in Europe prefer the "DD/MM/YYYY" format. By adhering to familiar date formats, Tana could enhance usability and reduce confusion.

Localization and Internationalization: Tana is used by people worldwide, and date formatting plays a vital role in localization efforts. By implementing flexible date formatting options, Tana can cater to users from different regions, respecting their preferred date formats. This adaptability helps ensure a positive user experience and broader global adoption.

Suggest a solution

Many services allow users to modify the formatting of dates in their settings. It would be a huge advantage if the same could be done for Tana.
