Ability to turn off "Time" checkbox when selecting a date

Explain the problem as you see it

When you're selecting a date in a field using the calendar widget, the default is always to have the "Time" checkbox enabled.

Why is this a problem for you?

I try to be as efficient as possible when filling out my nodes, ideally never leaving the keyboard. This setting is always enabled and I never use it. I just need the day. In order to remove it, I have to switch back to my mouse and unselect it.

Suggest a solution

1. By default, turn it off. Although I don't have metrics, I believe more people are concerned about the day rather than down to the minute.
2. The default behavior could be a preference setting.
