Inline Reference of Field Value

Actions

Explain the problem as you see it

Currently field values cannot be easily retrieved in the text.

Why is this a problem for you?

This limits the usefulness of field value since they cannot easily be reused.
For instance, imagine I have a supertag #person with a field #phone number. I'm writing a node where I would like to cite that phone number. Currently I need to open the person's node and copy/paste the field value.

Suggest a solution

It would be helpful to add a way to include an inline reference to the field value of a note (e.g. Person X.Phone number). It would make the use of fields even more helpful if that information could be reused elsewhere in the text (edited)

Slides Publication or View

Actions

Explain the problem as you see it

I'm a university professor, and it would be helpful for my workflow if I could use Tana to deliver presentations.

Why is this a problem for you?

Currently I'm reluctant to move my reading nodes to Tana since I'm not able to use them to also present the material in the form of slides.

Suggest a solution

One possible solution would be to introduce a node view that strips out all of the rest of the UI, zoom in the node, and present it as a slide. This would also require one control to navigate to other slide without returning to the traditional interface.
An expansion of this would be to introduce a Publish format that presents the material as a slide deck

PDF Annotator

Actions

Explain the problem as you see it

Tana currently allows the user to read a PDF file without leaving the app. Currently, however, extracting text from that PDF requires to manually copy the relevant text or switch to a different app (e.g. Readwise Reader)

Why is this a problem for you?

Both manually copying the relevant text from the PDF or switching to a different app (e.g. Readwise Reader) create frictions.

Suggest a solution

Integrate in Tana a native PDF annotator that would allow users to annotate files PDF documents once these have been added to Tana and export these annotations as nodes.
