Introduce a keyboard shortcut for "strikethrough"

Actions

Explain the problem as you see it

Tana has shortcuts for all of its text manipulation functions: Bold, Italic, Underline, Format as Code, and Highlight. The only one missing is Strikethrough.

Why is this a problem for you?

I often work with data processing and editing tasks in Tana which require marking that a word, phrase, sentence, or the entire node is being discarded or excluded.
This is a different function from adding a checkbox as this is not equivalent to a "done" state, so the Done shortcuts are of no use for these kinds of tasks.

As I used to do this kind of work in Google Docs for years, my hand automatically reaches for Alt+Shift+5, the keyboard shortcut for strikethrough. While in Microsoft Word, there's no standard shortcut for strikethrough, the ribbon menu is in the same place, making the switch to mouse a small nuisance but motor memory still drags the mouse cursor to the same place without much effort.
With Tana, where the text modification pop-up appears is dependent on what is selected, so there's an extra barrier introduced:

  1. Switching from keyboard to mouse
  2. Getting the visual feedback of where the pop-up has appeared
  3. Navigating there
  4. Clicking the button
  5. Returning to the keyboard

As a quick solution I thought of creating a custom keyboard shortcut for this in Tana, but as "strikethrough" is not a command, custom keyboard shortcuts cannot be set up for it.

Suggest a solution

  1. Introduce a keyboard shortcut for Strikethrough. Alt+Shift+5 for the PC and/or Command+Shift+X for the Mac seem like good candidates because they're in popular use already.
  2. Enable a custom keyboard shortcut to be set for Strikethrough.
