Explain the problem as you see it
Tana has support for inline code blocks, but the current implementation is too uncomfortable to use.
Why is this a problem for you?
Lots of other PKM tools have some degree of support for markdown-style formatting, and having to reach for a mouse, highlight the part you want, and then use backtick to make an inline code block is too cumbersome.
It would also help to migrate from other PKM tools, as one might've built a muscle memory around markdown-style formatting.
Suggest a solution
Add support for a limited subset of markdown-style formatting, like backticks for code blocks and two asterisks for bold.
Notion's implementation could be a nice reference for this, as it has limited "Markdown shortcuts", while generally being a WYSIWYG editor.
Notion irreversibly converts **bold**
to bold (the markdown shortcuts are converted to a WYSIWYG element once it is parsed).
