Temporary Highlight

Actions

Explain the problem as you see it

On my day node I can wind up emphasizing various bits of text (bold/ilatics/highlighting) so that I have a better visual focus...

Why is this a problem for you?

Where this is a problem is that over time, my notes are WAY too cluttered. I only need emphasis in the moment, or a certain period of time, like a day or so.

Suggest a solution

Temporary Highlight

Concept: Introduce a feature that allows users to bold, italicize, or highlight text temporarily. After a set period, the text will revert to its normal formatting.

Problem Solved: This feature addresses the issue of bland and cluttered text by allowing users to emphasize important information temporarily. It helps in maintaining focus without permanent changes to the document.

Implementation Suggestion: Users can set a timer for how long the highlight should last, providing flexibility and control over their focus needs.

Push Notifications for Tana (desktop and mobile)

Actions

Explain the problem as you see it

Currently, data from our graph doesn't leap out at us when needed, similar to how a task in Things might when the date and time are manually set.

(Notifications in Slack, in fact, might be a better example.)

Why is this a problem for you?

Sometimes we just need reminders/notifications, at specific times.

Suggest a solution

I propose adding push notifications to Tana for timely updates on key events like task reminders, collaborative updates, mentions, and daily highlights.

This feature would improve productivity and engagement by keeping users informed across devices (mobile and desktop).

Notifications should be customizable by type (e.g., task deadlines, comments) and frequency, offering users control over what they receive.

In other words, receiving notifications on my Apple Watch through my iPhone would be great—little blurbs of text, notes to self, or any other node—making Tana even more accessible and seamlessly integrated into daily life. This addition would enhance time management, focus, and collaboration, making Tana even more effective as a modern productivity tool.
