Explain the problem as you see it
like DRAG & DROP INTO FOLDERS in File Explorer / Finder.
Currently, we have 2 choices to drop around a collapsed node: above or below.
We could have a third option to drop a node onto a node, and insodoing the node becomes child to that node.
Kind of like when we drop images onto new nodes:
Work with the patterns the mind has learned
When I drag and drop my files (or another folder) onto a folder in Finder on my Mac, they drop in.
Same in Apple Notes, or 99% of software I've ever used.
When I drop a node onto a collapsed node, Tana treats it like I am dragging and dropping onto a file, and puts the node next to it.
Logical, as nodes are files; but not exclusively: Nodes are both files and folders. They display and contain. I believe Tana may forget that in the instance of organisation, collapsed nodes are folders too.
This tiny change will release a huge upgrade in my ability to not only create effectively but also organise efficiently. Maybe someone else feels the same?

P.S. Doesn't need to be limited to collapsed nodes
