Explain the problem as you see it
Some of my supertax's have very many fields and I reference their values in different situations. Which means in most situations I don't need to see the field values, so I hide most, if not all, fields most/all the time.
On the situations where I'd like to see the value of a hidden field, in many cases just seeing the name of the value's node is enough (meaning if the value is a supertag with its own fields, I usually get enough meaning from its name and don't have to expand the node.)
As of now, if I want to see the value, I have to click the hidden field and then move my eyes to the place where it unhid to. And then once I've glanced at the value I need to re-hide the field to get it out of my way. Which usually means hiding all fields and then re-unhiding the ones I want to work with.
Why is this a problem for you?
Honestly it's not a huge problem and more of an inconvenience. However, it does sometimes take me out of flow and seems like unnecessary fiddling with the UI to get my work done.
Suggest a solution
Provide a tool tip or other similar popup UI element that previews the name of the value's node when you hover over a hidden field.
I suppose if there are multiple values, then display them each on their own line.
I suppose if there's a large number of values, then maybe allow scrolling in the popup UI element.
If there is no value... Maybe display no value
, or an empty tooltip, or no tooltip since we have the nifty +
/ circle+
to tell the difference.
