Reminders — Receiving notifications when a Task is close to a date

Explain the problem as you see it

Set up a reminder for my future self down to the minute so that I can in the meantime forget that the task exists.

Why is this a problem for you?

Replacing apps such as Todoist, Omnifocus, Asana with Tana so that I can have all my tasks in the same repository

Suggest a solution

Set a date down to the minute, get a push notification by then.

Delighters:

  • Easy way to snooze for 15 minutes, an hour, a day, a week
  • Notifications for "Due Date" & "Referred Date"
  • Chose between Notifications by Email/Push (GCalendar does it)
  • Ability to have more than one Notification type (GCalendar does it)

⁨2⁩ ⁨Comments⁩

I would like to extend this to notifications in general. We have the ability to display a warning as a command. I feel we are close to an option like this.

  • IF
    • >Reminder (Date Field) == Current Time
      • Run a Command
        • @Display a Notification

Great, yes notifications are definitely part of the future, team have explored significantly already.

A current simple implementation is the the remind me function via command line.

More complete notifications covering uses cases like the ones you provide will come in future
