We have now added a "global clipper" to Tana Desktop: https://tana.inc/articles/global-clipper-capture-to-tana-from-anywhere-on-your-desktop

Hit Shift + Cmd + Space and a small modal opens on top of whatever app you are in. No context switching. No losing your train of thought. Just capture and move on.

What you can do in the clipper:

  • Paste links and content from your clipboard
  • Apply supertags
  • Set fields (tab through them!)
  • Use @mentions
  • Will send captured notes to Today
  • Move the modal around on screen

    Great!

    I noticed two things:

    • The Global Clipper should appear on the monitor where the cursor is currently located.
    • When we press Esc and the window closes, the text we’ve written (but not saved) should not be lost. It should still be there the next time we open the window.
